Gaar, Scott & Co. of Richmond, Indiana were well known at the turn of the century for their range of steam traction engines and threshing equipment. They produced their first gas tractor around 1910, although this venture was short lived, as the business was bought by the M. Rumely company in 1911. Rumely continued to offer the tractor for a while as the 40-70 "Tiger Pull" tractor until all remaining units were sold.
